Hard on Religious Faith

It's probably hard to find facts if your mind is already made up. If you're trying to find information on anything, more than likely you will find exactly what you're looking for, if you look hard enough. With all the information out there, available in books, media, and of course the Internet, would we really know the honest to God truth if we ran into one.

Not something that man made up and forced our ancestors to believe in.

If you're studying on faith alone and trying to prove or disprove something, you will succeed. If you're reading the Bible and looking for answers to problems in your life, eventually you will find the answers. All you need is to believe in your God and he will show you the way. Has he truly shown you the way or are you basing your religious beliefs on faith alone.

I have studied the Bible for many years and came to the conclusion that, I was often blinded by the way I view the information and couldn't get the facts most of the time. I always enjoyed reading Proverbs and the story of Job, both of these books in the Bible inspired me to become a better person.

By studying the Bible without faith and looking for information based on facts, it wasn't long before I realized this book could be and I say could be a group of stories that man over the centuries combined into one book during the Council of Nicaea in 325A.D and became religious doctrine for Christians.

In order to study anything effectively, you need to keep an open mind, this might require you to reprogram your thinking. You have been taught for years that only your religion is correct and all other religions are wrong. You can't think like this and gather information effectively.

Studying on faith alone could close your mind and keep you on the path of spiritual resistance. You know you're on this path if only the things you believe in make sense. Nothing nobody else says can make much sense if you're studying on faith alone.

What would it hurt to read a life changing spiritual book on another religion or form of spirituality? If you can't read another religious book, because you're religious organization tells you to only read their spiritual books to gather information, you're following a path of spiritual resistance.

If you're really going to study on faith alone then I suggest studying with intention to learn instead of follow.

Key Facts about the Oak Tree

The Oak Tree is Considered to be one of the most significant and magnificent trees in the whole world. In all there are over 300 varieties of these majestic forest giants.

Some species of oaks include the Royal Oak and Quercus Robur (Common Oak), which are very popular in Britain. Another species of oak called the Charter Oak is very prominent in the United States. Among the rarest of oaks is the Cork Oak, and is so called because it is the tree that is used to make a majority of the finest wine bottle corks. The earlier-mentioned British Quercus Robur is one that is most often used in landscape architecture around an estate home.

Most oak trees take hundreds of years to reach maturity. In fact, one tree in Windsor is over 800 years old. This tree was planted during the reign of King John, and has lived through at least 35 monarch reigns. This tree has lived longer than most men, even the men of ancient times.

The oak remains a symbol of spiritual significance and serves as a valuable commodity for the creation of durable tangible goods. For instance, the bible uses the oak tree in reference at least 23 times. In addition, Romans, Greeks, Celts, Slavs, and Teutonic groups put the oak on a pedestal, higher than any other tree.

The oak tree is also referenced in many ballads, such as Major Oak in Sherwood Forest, which was also associated with Robin Hood. This is an actual tree that is still standing after quite a long time, and it measures to be 20 metres (64 feet) wide. The Major Oak is one tree that has reached its maturity.

Oak has also been used on British coins. The sixpence, which is one of Britains oldest coins, has an oak tree engraved on it, and the shilling does as well.

The reason why the oak is such a well-revered tree is because it is one of the strongest woods in the world. In fact, it has been noted that the oak tree has five times the shearing strength of Scots pine. That is the reason it is used to make burial coffins for important people, such as the one of Edward the Confessor located in a shrine in Westminster Abbey.

Those who love to learn about the history of why certain names came about can read about the history of the Royal Oak. In brief, the Royal Oak was so named because King Charles II hid inside an oak tree after he was defeated by Cromwell during the Battle of Worcester in 1651. He lived in exile for at least ten years before returning to the kingdom. His birthday became a self-proclaimed public holiday, called Royal Oak day, and needless to say the Royal Oak was named after him.

Another brief moment in history pertaining to the oak tree includes the story of the ship the Mary Rose. The story of this oak ship does not have as happy of an ending as the story of the naming of the Royal Oak. However, it is very significant in many ways.

On July 19th, 1545 the Mary Rose sunk in the water as King Henry VIIIs army attempted to cross from Spithead fight French invaders. Unfortunately the entire ship sunk, and over time the pieces, including the hull were located. The entire ship is now sits a short ways from Lord Nelsons flagship HMS Victory in Portsmouths Naval Dockyard.

Again, the problem with the Mary Rose was not the wood that was used to create it, but rather the way it was constructed. Oak has long been a choice for many water vessels made in earlier times, and the Mary Rose just happened to be an unfortunate case in which the ship failed to protect the passengers. Ordinarily people had made it safe across the waters aboard a ship.

Overall the oak tree is a very strong and sturdy wood, and represents many things, including that of the concept of longevity, and of wisdom. This is a tree that stands the test of time.

Achieving Maximum Altitude

Like most people, there are not many things I like about flying. Except for one thing! When I fly, I always choose the window seat and wait for the best part of the flight! I just love when the plane cuts through the clouds and soars above them. I absolutely love flying above the clouds and looking down onto a sea of puffy cotton balls! It is at this point, when the plane reaches its maximum altitude. It is a moment of stability, weightlessness and pristine beauty!

How can we achieve our maximum altitude? How can we obtain those moments in life of flying above the clouds? Life's goals and personal visions are a lot like packing for a trip! The departures may be different, but the destinations remain the same. Here are some flying tips to reach you closer to your life's destinations:

Pre-preparation! It is the little details that get you to your final destination. Booking the flight, hotel, choosing your clothes etc. Making a list and checking it twice! Prepare a list to make your journey to your final destination a pleasant one. What are the little details that you need to check off on your list to bring you closer to landing your goals?

Pack only your essentials! When we have a goal or mission in mind, keep focused on only what you need to carry to achieve them. Packing for life's goals is a lot like reading a book: take what you need and leave the rest! If not, your luggage is too heavy to carry!

Compartmentalize everything! When packing your luggage, there is a place for everything: your shoes, your suits and your toiletries. Separate your life's goals much in the same manner. The immediate tasks, your short term goals and your future long-range goals. Like your luggage, tag and label them and check them often!

Listen to the instructions! On any flight, we are forced (we have no choice!) to listen to the instructions and know what to do in case of an emergency and where the exit doors are. Do we listen to instructions, advice and creative criticism from our mentors or family members? Probably not! But, like that flight attendant, they are there to protect us and make our journey a pleasant one.

Letting your loved ones know where you are! We have a family pact. When I am traveling, I always leave my hotel info and flight #'s with my family. It not only shows respect, bit it is a way of keeping them informed of my journey. When was the last time, you informed your family/friends where you are in your life goal's, your dreams, your destination spot? Share your life's itinerary with the people who are most important in your life.

Encountering turbulence! I wish all flights of life were smooth sailing! In trying to reach our personal goals and missions, we sometimes will encounter air pockets and altitude shifts. Know that they are only temporary. Hold you breathe if you have to. Grab a friend's hand in panic. Know that your 'plane' will stabilize again. As the saying goes: this too shall pass!

Say a prayer! My sister is a white-knuckled, terrified passenger. I always joke with her and say that if something happens to me on a plane, at least I am closer to heaven! (To say the least, she does not appreciate the humour!). All joking aside, there are not many people who know, that when I fly, I carry my rosary in my pocket. I, invariably, always say a couple of prayers along the way. Touching the rosary brings me peace and some calmness. In the air or on land, know that your personal prayers do not fall on deaf ears.

Clap when you land! Many of us have been on flights, when the pilot lands us safely on that runway, that we give a round of applause. When you goals have been met, give yourself a round of applause. You have landed safe and sound!

Give thanks! When leaving a plane, the airline staff and crew are always at the door saying goodbye and wishing you a safe trip. I personally thank each and every one of them. When reaching your goal's destination, give thanks to those that helped you get there. We are not on this journey of life alone. Have an 'altitude of gratitude' for those who have helped you on your 'flight' towards your goals.

Enjoy your trip! Treasure your moments. Know that with every flight in life, you will reach greater heights, soaring with greatness above the clouds.

Lawn Care For Winter Preparation

Preparing the lawn in the fall for the snow and ice to come in the winter is an important part of lawn and yard maintenance. It is important to provide the lawn with a protective environment throughout the year to ensure that it will survive the ice that is to come through the winter season. The winter season full of snow and ice can allow mould to flourish within the lawn, creating a terrible environment for the new and regrowth of green and lush grass in the spring.

There are some lawn caretakers that choose to allow the leaves that fall on to the lawn to remain to provide the nutrients to the lawn that is requires through the winter months. This allows a layer of nutrients that the grass is able to live from during the cold months of winter.

There are many lawn caretakers that choose to remove these leaves from the lawn. Removing the leaves from the lawn will further discourage mould from growing on the lawn.

The lawn needs to be weeded before the winter. Weeds take away the valuable nutrients that the lawn needs throughout the winter months. Well before the first snowfall, the weeds should be removed from the lawn as the use the valuable water and light that can are given to the lawn. The best time to attempt weed removal is after the rain, when the soil is moist. The weeds should be removed entirely, including the root of the plant. This will ensure that the weed is unable to grow back. If you choose to remove the weeds through the use of chemicals, it is important to avoid repercussions that this may have on the lawn by ensuring that the lawn is properly filled with nutrients.

Composting is not only a great way to avoid soil erosion, but it can provide the nutrients to the lawn throughout the winter. It allows the lawn to become prepared for the winter by providing the valuable nutrients that will be required to keep the lawn alive. Many lawn caretakers are unaware that the lawn only hibernates throughout the winter season, it does not die. For this reason, providing nutrients through the winter season is an essential way to maintain the health of your lawn.

Aerating the lawn provides a welcome and healthy environment for grass to grow in the fall and be prepared for the frost, snow and ice that comes with the winter months. These air pockets allow for moisture to become present within the soil and therefore moisturize the lawn throughout the long winter months.

Avoid cutting the lawn when it comes close to frost. Cutting the tips from the lawn can create a harsh environment and leave the grass susceptible to disease and other disorders that may come from the lack of nutrients. When cutting the lawn, it is important to leave at least two thirds of the blade of grass. This will ensure that the grass has enough nutrients within the blades to recover itself. At least two to four weeks before the frost, the cutting of the lawn should be avoided.

Religious Views Based on Hoping

I was told by an advertising executive one day that all of your advertisements need to deliver some sort of hope for the people you're trying to persuade into buying your products. Funny, if you think about it, I got some and great advice about life from someone in the advertisement business.

Most people are looking for hope, in everything they do. Most of our daily activities revolve around hope and this gives our lives some sort of direction. If you believe in an almighty being and creator of the universe, often you will try to please him, ....or her, ....or it, in hopes of entering the kingdom of heaven or the promised land after you die.

Often our fears will increase our levels of hoping, the fear of doing something against your religion can often inspire you to become a more spiritual person, a good and moral person. Fear of making the wrong choices will inspire us to make better, moral choices, all for the sake of acquiring a ticket to Heaven or Nirvana. You're hoping, your good deeds on earth will earn you a place in heaven.

Most people are afraid of dying and leaving this world, for good. They don't know where they're going and that seems to scare most people. If we can offer someone a little hope, that they are going to a much better place than here, we can often ease the pain and suffering associated with death. I have to admit, most religions of the world promise another world, after we're done with this one.

If you're living a honest and moral life with the hopes of living a bountiful life in heaven, could you be wrong. What if you're seeking Hope in the wrong religion? If you're a Christian and the Hindus are right and you're wrong, do you get to enter there eternal kingdom.

Think about this question, I'm about to ask you. What if spend your whole life studying your religion and it's wrong? There is no heaven and when you die, that's the end of your existence

Have you ever wondered why you believe in your religion and someone in another country or even a couple of miles away believes in something entirely different.

Don't get mad at me or yourself, simply think about the question for a while, this question has transformed my life and put me on a wonderful spiritual path of learning.

Motivation Can Combat Bankruptcy

Personal financial management skills have never been so important in the history of mankind as they are now. The liberal terms and superfluous marketing techniques employed by credit card providers has made bankruptcy a term so popular that even grandmothers can tell you its meaning and even quote some sections of the ACT regulating bankruptcy.

Found in this article are the hidden potentials of motivation to help shield you from bankruptcy. Motivation is the working force of every strong desire. Without motivation, you will agree that all your desires to get out of debt and possibly avoid filling in for bankruptcy will all be in vain. Below are some tips that when backed up with motivation will help you get out of that debt that may lead to bankruptcy fast.

Self-control/Self denial and Discipline: Any human being on earth who does not have self-control, self-denial and discipline will find it very difficult if not impossible to make it in life. Credit/debit cards are like loaded gun given to a drunk. A person who lack self control and is not able to discipline him/her self is likened to a drunk handling a gun that is well loaded in the gathering of people. Self control and its associates will help you forgo certain things that are not essential (i.e luxuries). This self-control cannot be found outside motivation. A depressed, stressed and frustrated individual can never be disciplined or have self control.

To get yourself motivated, simply remind yourself that you love yourself so much that you cannot afford to risk losing all the benefits that is associated with clean financial records. Keep an eye on maintaining a clean financial record ( i.e making it your goal) i bet you will always be motivated to have self-control.

Financial Literacy: If you really want to manage your credit and avoid bankruptcy, or even get out of a near bankrupt situation, financial education is one thing that you must seriously consider. I am not saying that you take up a course in finance or accounting. No, what i mean is to always use other peoples' expertise (OPE). You can find quality financial planner online or offline. Discuss whatever venture/purchase you want to make with him/her. Ask for their opinion. In fact, ask them to tell you the financial implications of what you are about doing. Though there is nothing wrong with you being a little friendly with "figures" but you can still get away with it.

Developing a thick skin to compelling adverts: Advertisers and marketers are always researching ways to make people spend even when they don't want to spend. This is their job and they are obliged to it. And it is your sole duty to learn to say no to certain fantastic offers.

Record keeping: This will help you in the area of being disciplined. By keeping records of all your financial transactions, you can effectively and efficiently manage the possible temptation posed by advertisers

Applying common sense and being focused: Make a rational judgment as to what and what you need to buy and what not to buy.

Tap Into a Natural Resource - Rainwater Harvesting is Easy and the Water is Free

In the wet winter months its easy to forget that come the summer we are faced with huge water shortages across the country and the demand for water is growing by 1% every year. With this in mind one simple and ancient method of improving the situation is rainwater harvesting and the guttering chosen for this is very important. Copper gutters and down pipes can form an integral part of the rainwater harvesting strategy. Copper does not rust and turn the water orange and has a mild disinfecting affect on the water - particularly relevant for storage of untreated rainwater.

Copper is a wholly natural material present in and essential to plants, animals and humans. For a nation of garden lovers this is particularly relevant as plants grow better using rainwater, which has a balanced pH and is free of chemicals such as chlorine. Also, besides its high corrosion resistance and attractive appearance, copper acts as an algaecide and fungicide, keeping growths such as moss and lichens to a minimum with obvious benefits when it comes to guttering and water harvesting.

With the proportion of water used in the UK for gardening alone approaching 50% during the driest months of the year, water harvesting must be a consideration. Also in a recent Save the Rain survey in association with British Water and Hydro International, it was revealed that 9 out of 10 householders believe rainwater harvesting is a good idea and one in three would be more likely to buy a house with rainwater harvesting already installed. So it could improve the value of your property while saving money and valuable resources.

But this is not a new concept; copper can be traced back for use in roofing and guttering to 27BC. Archaeologists have even recovered a portion of a water plumbing system from the Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt. The copper piping was found to be in a serviceable condition after more than five thousand years, proof that the basic copper properties have been appreciated and put to use since ancient times.

Evolution of Religion

If we go back a thousand years, most of the modern-day religions like Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam and Buddhism were all well established religions of the world. There might not have been very many Buddhists in Europe and there was probably very few Jews in China. These religions usually stayed within their controlling borders.

It's hard to imagine, with the information today and even 50 years ago that most people still believe in religions all over the world, just because they were raised to believe in them. Religions of the future will have to adapt to change, a little faster as more people read articles like mine to promote education within your religion.

Are You Fed Up With Religion
Power Of Positive Thinking

What Happens When What You Hold on to is Gone?

Attachment.

Something that most of us have in common despite of our race, religion, gender, age, background, status, etc. It can be tangible or intangible. But whatever it is, it has this invisible glue that holds it well together with our identity, with or without our knowing.

What are the most obvious forms of attachments we can observe?

- Lovers who can't be torn apart.
- A strong belief to an idea.
- A sense of belonging to any material things.
- A job we have
- A status we have earned
- A reputation we have tried to build
- Etc

But what happens when it's lost? Will you lose yourself in the process of losing "it"? Or will you be liberated as nothing will hold you back any longer? Will you give up on life or will you move on and find new meanings from other things?

It was the teaching of Buddha to be detached from stuffs (including living beings) to be able to reach nirvana but for us who have been brainwashed to the concept of ownership, this habit dies hard. It's not easy. And the fact is between attachment and detachment, there lies a very fine, fine line. How do we cross over to each side depends on our own sheer will power and self control.

I used to be so detached with the hatred I have towards the riots that happened to me in 1998 (during the Asian Financial crisis). It was a horrible experience where I was in the house which windows were stoned to pieces by the natives. I carried my hatred for at least a year and every time I saw a race that resembles to those who have ruined my belongings, I detested them. I didn't know this "attachment" to the feeling of hatred had made me so weary. And what do I gain for having this attitude? NOTHING! Not only I stained one race just because of few rotten apples, I was so delusional that I thought my hallucinations were my reality.

In fact I lost more. I didn't notice the beauty of possible opportunities should I have let go earlier. Yes, the event was horrible, but it doesn't mean I have to be a horrible person because of it. I've learned to embrace the diversity of opinions and perspectives and indeed there is not one way as the right way. If there is only one right theory for everything then till now we should believe that the sun is revolving our earth. Oh, how silly will that be?

I know the example that I've given above may not be similar with what you are holding to now. You may be holding on tightly to your loved one/s in which without them you feel empty. It's time to think for yourself, if they are really gone from the surface of earth, will you really be empty? Can you feel the void again with something else? Won't you loved one/s want you to move on and be a better person rather than grieving about them for lives and actually given up life just because of their departure?

When something is lost along the way, it's very normal to grieve and cry your heart out. But don't take too long. Give your heart and soul a break. If it's not for your own sanity sake, do give your loved one/s a break too. Don't you think he/she/they/it will feel the pain knowing that you can't let go of the attachment that is of no existence? Don't you think you deserve to be happy?

When you lose something you can't live without, you should not lose yourself. You should feel liberated not in the sense that you've been imprisoned all these while and it's the time you claim your freedom. But you should feel liberated because you are a better person than before. You are liberated from the old experiences and new things will come your way.

Take your time to sob but don't forget you deserve to be on top of your life. All will be well again and remember to smile because it has happened in your life.

Luck Is What Happens When

An Important Part of Home Inspection - The Roof

Everyone knows that you should have a home inspection performed on a house you wish to buy. A professional home inspector will outline any problems or repairs that need to be made so you can negotiate a price accordingly and finalize the real estate transaction with peace of mind. But when it comes to the inspection of the roof, what exactly is a home inspector look at?

There are two basic types of roofs, pitched and flat. A pitched roof is normally built of a wood framework of beams joined at the top at an angle, a deck usually made up of plywood and a weather resistant cover. The singles (cover) are the one layer that keep your roof dry so they must be intact in order to protect against the elements such as rain, snow and hail.

A professional home inspector will first do a cursory visual inspection of the roof. He will when go up on the roof to look for uneven shingles or a poor new shingles installation over old ones. Installing new shingles over old ones is not necessary a problem, as long as the work is done correctly. The home inspector will also check for sagging which could be caused by a damaged deck or a potentially more serious structural issue with one of the ridge beams. Any pealing, cracking or breakage of the shingles will be noted on the inspection report.

An inspection of the attic will also be made to ensure that there is no water damage on the underside of the deck which would indicate water leakage. The home inspector will also look for appropriate roof ventilation. He will count the number of vents and the soffit and their overall placement to confirm that there is adequate ventilation. Warm air must be allowed to escape the attic to avoid moisture build-up and ultimately rot.

In the case of a flat roof, a professional inspector will verify all the same elements as for a pitched roof with the addition of water pooling. The main difference between a flat and a pitched roof is that the flat roof is built to be water tight whereas the pitched roof is meant to have the water run off its sides. A flat roof should not have any ponds of standing water as it can breed insects and plants, which can ultimately damage the roof. With a flat roof, the inspector will look for any weak spots, visible cracks, blisters or corrosion which could compromise the integrity of the roof. Tracing the source of water damage from a flat roof may be more difficult as it may have started in one place but when zigzagged away and created damage somewhere else.

Before you buy a new home, have it inspected by a professional. This will give you not only peace of mind about any major structural or mechanical issues the home may have but it will also educate you as what areas of house will need attention in the near future. Such as the roof.

Positive Action - Delete Your Personal History And Let Go Of Self-Limiting Beliefs

Letting go of anything is never easy. We all form a set of beliefs about ourselves at a very early age. We may not even be sure where those beliefs came from - they've just always been there, and they drive the way we think and behave.

We use this belief system to justify what we do and how we feel. We say things like, "My parents were alcoholics," "My spouse left me," "I lost my job," "Things aren't like they used to be," and use them as reasons why can't get on with our lives.

We focus on the things that have been done to us in the past, and we form a bond with those experiences. But, all the excuses in the world will never be able to erase the past. We must accept it and move on.

Wayne Dyer uses the metaphor of the wake of a boat. The wake is the trail left behind the boat. It's not the wake that moves the boat forward.

The same is true with the wake of your life. If you stay in the wake and hang on to your past experiences - your suffering, your hurt, your anger, your successes or failures - it is impossible to move your life forward.

Here are 3 Positive Action steps that can help you let go of those feelings and beliefs:

  1. Make a list of the things that are keeping you from moving forward. You can't just set it down and walk away from it - it will always be there to come back to. Pick it up, read it, embrace, it, understand it, and accept it. Know that you had to go through those things to be here now. Then toss it.
  2. Remove all labels that you've placed on yourself. The labels limit you. You are not defined by what you have done nor what you have not done.
  3. Write some affirmations (you may use these or write your own) and read them everyday: "I make a commitment to live in the moment" and "I am letting go of my past self-limiting beliefs."

Your history is no longer in your present physical reality. Let it go, and choose to live "now."

What Is The Secret Of Life
Are You Fed Up With Religion

Where Did the Bible Come from?

In the year 325A.D the emperor of Rome, Constantine gathered a group of church bishops and other leaders who believes in Christianity. The purpose of the meeting was to define the true God for all Christians and eliminate any confusion within Christ's church.

By the end of this council, Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit were considered one and the same. Before the council, there was confusion about, whether they should believe in one God, two gods or three entities.

Here's a statement from got questions, a popular Christian website, "The Council of Nicea affirmed the deity of Jesus Christ and established an official definition of the Trinity-the deity of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit under one Godhead, in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons."

This was a pretty interesting article, if you've got time to read it, I would also suggest checking out Wikipedia for more information about the Council of Nicaea.

Here's Some of the Problems I Have with This Small Group of Proclaimed Christians.

If I'm reading this statement correctly, a group of people or religious leaders, 1700 years ago decided that Jesus, God the creator of everything in the universe and the Holy Spirit are the same. What does this mean to you? To me it establishes as a fact that a group of men, at a meeting, under the control of the Roman empire and the Emperor Constantine, made an agreement within the Council of man, not gods, that the Trinity was now a fact.

If this one thing was created by a group of men, doesn't it get you thinking about other things in your religion that might be false or even misleading. These are some of the facts that most Christians tend to either ignore or don't even have a clue that they exist.

I believe more Christians and other organized religions should inspire their followers to learn more about how their religions were formed and where they came from. I cannot verify that the Council of Nicaea ever took place, I'm basing this information on historical writings from man, that I either gather on the Internet or through books. I don't know if any of this is true or false, always use religion responsibly.

I don't need to believe the information, I don't need to believes the information in the Bible, I need to research and gather more information and with this information I can make an educated guess, and be happy with that, I suggest you do the same.

Deciding Which Tiles Are Suitable For Your Bathroom

The bathroom might be a very small room, however that certainly doesn't mean that decorating this room is easy and inexpensive. Bathroom renovation projects are often very complicated. Choosing bathroom tiles can be very difficult because there are many different types of tiles which are suitable for different purposes. There are various different materials which tiles can be made out of, each of these have different advantages and disadvantages. When you are deciding what to do with your bathroom tiles then you should know all about these advantages and disadvantages.

Ceramic

These tiles are the most common form of bathroom tile. They are made from clay with a glaze on top of them. Ceramic tiles are sealed and so resist water and do not harbor any germs. They are also very easy to clean and are very durable. The only problem with these is that the colors can vary slightly if you purchase different batches of tile. When buying tiles you should make sure that the batch numbers are the same.

Terrazzo

This type of tile is commonly found in public buildings. It's the marble like material which is speckled. It's commonly used on floors. It's made from marble chips in concrete which is then polished to resemble marble. This is a very long lasting material which is also very beautiful. You can now purchase this in individual tiles so it is suitable for private bathrooms. Although this tile is very beautiful it is very slippery, it's best used for walls not on floors.

Slate

Slate is a beautiful natural material which also makes very durable tiles. It has been used for centuries for roofing which proves just how durable it is. Slate floor tiles can add a sense of luxury to your bathroom which can be very beautiful. The only disadvantage to using slate is that it can crack overtime. As long as you don't treat it badly it should last a long time in your bathroom.

Glass

Glass tiles are available in a wide range of different colors, designs and textures. These can help to make a very beautiful bathroom. However installing glass tiles can be quite difficult, you will probably need to hire an expert to fit these for you, and this will make these tiles much more expensive. This normally makes these tiles too expensive for people to consider using on bathroom floors. If your budget isn't limited then you should defiantly consider these as they are truly beautiful!

Each different type of tile has its own advantages and disadvantages. There is no right answer, you have to choose the material which works the best for you! Decide where you want to use it and what you are most worried about.

Separating From God Or Honest Questions? Christian Thought

If you quit going to church or your place of worship, would you feel like you are separating your self from the congregation, the people that go to church with you, or do you feel like you would actually be separating from God somehow. I believe some people think that God is actually in the church and if they were to quit going to church, they would actually lose a direct link to God. Most people believe what they are told and follow their leaders.

If you're a Christian, can you answer me this, What Church Did Jesus Belonged to? Was he a Catholic, Protestant, evangelical or some other form of Christianity, maybe, just maybe he believed in a different religion altogether. I often wonder if Jesus was a Buddhist or he learned something magical from the Egyptians. It's said that Jesus traveled to other countries, do you think it's possible that he learned some sort of ancient wisdom from a man or woman, instead of being born God.

Is this how he was able to perform the miracles written about after his death?

Jesus supposedly studied the Torah and was considered to be Jewish, but was he really. While Jesus was studying the Torah, did he gain knowledge and wisdom, or was he actually born knowing everything. How can we actually prove that Jesus knew everything?

Does it say anywhere in the New Testament about going to church on Sunday, when Sabbath is actually Friday evening or Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset. Have you ever thought about why they switched days. The God from the Old Testament seem to get pretty mad if anyone did anything on the Sabbath, which was Saturday. One person decided that it would be better to go to church on Sunday and now we call it the Lord's Day. What really happened to the Sabbath?

It often gets a little more confusing, the more conscious effort you put into educating yourself about your religion and others throughout the world.

People often assume that I have separated from God somehow and could be going to hell, because I write some of these articles. I'm hoping that you will do a little more research about your religion and find your true North, your true direction in life, what it is you are actually here to do. Don't follow the faithful blindly, follow the intelligence willfully.

Tips on Credit Cards Debts and Credit Repair

If for instance you apply for a loan when having a packed credit card you might lose some good 100 points from your credit score. You will need to run an effective credit repair, bringing your balance in a level smaller than the 30% of the limit of your card so as to optimize your overall score.

Paying down your credit cards debts and your other balances is great, but unfortunately not always really realistic. The problem is that you might need to get a mortgage and you need an urgent credit repair. In this case you can contact your bank and ask them how you can pay down your cards in the shortest possible way. After getting their instructions you can do some small payments and then ask them to provide you a balance statement, which you will give to the mortgage originator so he can run a credit repair through Rapid Rescore. This can restore your credit score within 3-4 days, or in worse case a week.

You just need to evaluate your needs and take the time to make a plan on how you are going to fix your credit score and then apply your efforts. If you manage to find some good credit card tips, then you can always achieve great results. Increasing your credit cards limits is one of them because this is something that will make your balance be below the 25-30% which is the minimum optimal balance under the limit. It is not probably the most favorable time for that, since banks are relatively strict with loans and cards, but in any case it's worth trying.

If you are up to eliminate your credit cards debt, but you still want to use a card and run an effective credit repair and credit rebuilding at the same time, then you should consider opening secured cards. Even if your credit score is poor you can always apply for a secured card, and try to keep the balance relatively low. Do not, under any circumstances , try to use the maximum of your card because you will not be able to restore your creditability ever and your credit repair will fail. The balance to limit ratio is very important and can perform miracles for your overall score, especially in those new cards that weight seriously on the credit score model.

Tithing Education - Giving From Guilt

If you're part of any organized religion and donate money on a regular basis, do you know where your money is going? Have you ever asked what they are spending the money on? Are you one of those people who feels that your pastor and church leaders know best and never even ask them, because you might feel inferior to them? Have you asked in the past and were told not to worry about it but still would like to know.

Before you give your hard earned money away, whether you're doing it out of guilt or pleasure, make sure you're supporting the right organization. You should never feel the need to donate money if you don't have it to give.

I went to a church that had funds for everything, building funds, starvation funds, church funds and even funds to fund of funds if they ran out of money. Okay I just threw that last part in their but all kidding aside, there's plenty of stuff to be done in our country, to help the starving, the poor and the needy. Why do we need to go to other countries?

I want to make a suggestion to people who can't afford to give their money away but feel guilty if they don't. In the Bible it tells you to give away 10% of your earnings to the church. The part that it doesn't tell you is what to do if you can't afford to give 10% to the church. I personally have known quite a few people who give money out of guilt and fear but will tell you that this is a requirement of their religion and its okay. God will take care of us and he always does.

I don't really believe God, the all powerful all-knowing and loving creator, wants us to suffer, if we just don't make enough money to survive. If you're planning on sending your child to a Christian private school and could only afford to send them to that school, using the money that you were going to tithe to the church, what will you do? Tithe the money to the church so that they can use it to feed hungry people in other countries or build a new church somewhere or help with your child's education.

Some of these decisions are made difficult by religious doctrine and these are the parts of organized religion that I have problems with. When do we use common sense, combined with a little education to seek the truth. Does your religion ask you to seek the truth but not to gather your information beyond their religious boundaries?

Only give what you can afford to give and feel good about it. If you don't feel good about giving your money away, don't do it. Take care of yourself, so that you can take care of others, if you choose to. Living a life of fear and guilt doesn't make sense.

Why Most People NEVER Take Control of Their Lives & How You Can Avoid Being One of Them

Everybody Wants to be Free

In a day and age where everyone is always raving about personal power, individualism, our right to make our own decisions, and how unfair it is for the government to take so much control in our lives, it's hard to understand why, if personal freedom is a mass desire, so few people have chosen, this is 100% CHOICE, to claim theirs.

Saying you want to be free from your boss, or the government in your business, or having to spend 60% of your life at a meaningless, menial job is great rhetoric, but most people are not willing to do the work to get to that level of freedom. Yes, it's nice to talk about being able to take entire summer vacations with your family, own your own business, and spend your time doing what you want without ever worrying about money again, but the truth is, MOST PEOPLE WILL NEVER ACHIEVE THIS!

That's right. I'm going out on a limb and telling you what all the "gurus" in the world won't; bunches and bunches of people will continue to talk from here to Kingdom Come about living free and taking charge. A full 98+% of them will still be talking, without one iota of progress, a year from now.

WHY???

Because TALKING about it is not ACTING on it!

Let's be honest with one another. Sometimes it feels really GOOD to just complain about things. Really! It feels good to get the attention of others, to build camaraderie with people (who, if they're complaining too, are wallowing in the self-pity pool choosing to be Losers), take pity on ourselves and say,

"See, this isn't my fault. I'm not the reason I'm like this! My situation is too difficult...I don't make enough money to start my own business. I don't have the connections, or any family support, or it's hard where I come from, or..."

See my point here? The reason people do this is because it's really EASY to blame someone else for the failures, mistakes, missteps, and lack of progression in our lives. It takes real courage to evaluate our selves, stand up and say...

"I know some things have happened to me in my life that were beyond my control. However, I accept that my current station in life is directly due to my actions AND my reactions to the circumstances and problems that have taken place in my life."

The Key to Change

Owning up to your responsibility in your life can be a painful process. It won't be easy when you start taking control! You'll still have issues, things you need to improve, habits to break, phobias to overcome. Some people who aren't ready to see you change may leave your life as you grow & improve. And then, there's the most dreaded outcome of all...

PROBLEMS.

Boy, do we do our best to avoid those!!!! No matter who you choose to associate with, how low you allow yourself to sink in life or how high you choose to rise, EVERYONE HAS PROBLEMS.

We've all got issues! The higher you rise, the better the "class" of problem...but they NEVER go away. Don't set an unreasonable expectation that you'll avoid them by limiting yourself; it will only slow your progress.

When you become financially free, for instance, you won't worry about paying your rent or how to put food on the table. Instead, you'll worry about what investments to put your money in, or how to deal with an under-performing employee. See the difference?

The important thing to remember is problems are a sign of life. The only people without them are the ones without a pulse...so, if you have none, you should start to worry!

Why You SHOULD Embrace Problems

Problems are meant to challenge us; to help us learn and grow. Facing a challenge encourages us to think creatively, to fully engage in our lives, and to strengthen ourselves in order to continue thriving in the face of resistance.

When was the last time you were challenged in your life? When was the last time your adrenaline was so high that it opened up your entire thought process to a new solution? Does your work challenge you?

Are you doing something lucrative that will propel you toward your ultimate goals? If not, why? There's no time like the present to redirect your energies and become the person you are meant to be.

Don't wait another moment to get started! Make that first step:
Take responsibility. Right now.
ACTION EXERCISE: Stop reading, think about the circumstances in your life, accept them as they are, then say out loud:

"I take full responsibility for my life - past, present, & future. Starting today, I will act in a way that serves my ultimate goals & purpose. I can't change the past, but the future is in my hands...Today, I choose to change my life!"

The Benefits Of A Home Sauna

Do the cares of this world leave you stressful? Would you like to relax and refresh your body in a sauna, but the idea of going to a local sauna doesn't impress you? Maybe it is time to consider installing one in the comfort of your own home. Just imagine stepping into your sauna to unwind and relax whenever you wish.

Deciding on how you will heat your home sauna is the first step to consider. After you have decided how you will generate heat in your home sauna, the next step is to decide where you will put it. If you are going to use electric you may want it in your home. If you plan on a wood stove you may want to put it outdoors near your woodpile. If you want a steam sauna you may want to place it near a water source such as a lake, or pool.

You can install either a single person sauna or a multi sauna. There are many brands and styles like a traditional sauna or an infrared one. A traditional room is made from quality wood like cedar and is heated by a wood burning source or an electric stove.

If you think you don't have room for a sauna, you are in luck because they make portable saunas, that can be set-up and torn down with ease. These ingenious saunas require no plumbing, rewiring, or time-consuming maintenance. It sets up in minutes without tools. All you have to do is pour in water, plug into a standard plug and in minutes you're basking in your own private sauna. When you are finished all you have to do is fold up the unit for compact storage.

Master bathrooms, garages, and basements are excellent places to build an indoor sauna. If you prefer to build your sauna outside you can alter an outside structure by adding insulation, benches and a heat source or, if you feel adventurous, you can build a sauna cottage.

A saunas temperature is usually 150 degrees or more while maintaining a very low relative humidity about 10 to 20 percent. Depending on the individual you can raise the humidity by pouring water on the hot rocks. If you cannot stand the heat you can always have an infrared sauna. Infrared heaters convert light directly to heat. This heat warms the bather, keeping the surrounding air cool.

Remodel Instead of Selling Your Home

Why sell your home when you can remodel and create the home of your dreams

After living in your home for a long time, you may end up getting bored looking at the fixtures and decor of your home. The options you have for a change are to either sell the house and buy a new one, or a better option which is to remodel and create your dream home.

Buying a new home does not always prove to be a practical choice as you may have to shift the kids' school, spend more time commuting to your workplace, need more time getting accustomed to the stores and markets near you and of course, get your old home sold for the right price.

Keep your budget in mind

When remodeling your home, you will first have to keep your budget into consideration, if you have any additions or requirements to be added to your home and any particular style that you intend to implement in the house. The rooms that need most attention when remodeling are bathrooms and kitchens as these are the most used rooms, and have new accessories coming up that will make your rooms look much better than they were before.

Like if you lack a room for your kids or a guest room, consider adding this by perhaps adding an extra room to your home. You could consider transforming a basement to a game room or your garage into an apartment to give that extra space to your family.

If you like outdoor entertaining, you could consider adding a patio or deck to facilitate this. And if you are suddenly involved in becoming environmentally conscious, you could consider using environmentally friendly products in the remodeling of your home.

You get better rates by meeting neighborhood standards

Instead of just renovating and remodeling your home to your ideas and budget, with some research, you will be able to find out what changes will bring the best rate to your home in the future.

If you find out that your home is the only home that has only one bathroom, you could consider adding a bathroom to your home when remodeling. This is because if you can meet the neighborhood standard, you will be able to get a better rate for your home when selling it.

If you plan any additions to your home, make sure it is in proportion to the house. It should be an accent to the house, and not end up as a focal point. Your remodeling should always work to your benefit as it is not always that home buyers will like the house the way you have remodeled it.

Remodeling your home gets a better resale price

Remember that though you may be selling it in the future, you have to remodel it so that you are all comfortable in it till you sell it. It is not necessary to spend a fortune on remodeling; you can make quite an impact with a restricted budget.

Not only do you get a new home by remodeling your home, you also get extra years of pleasure, which may in turn increase the value of the home. This will fetch you a better price, if you intend to sell the house in the future.

Having TV Problems? Here Are 4 Reasons to Go For TV Repair Instead of Buying New

Is your TV on the blink and no longer covered by warranty? Thinking of junking it and getting a new CRT, plasma or LCD TV? There are a number of reasons you may want to consider having it repaired instead of thrown away. And since getting a new one means hard-earned money out of your pockets, checking out those reasons may turn out to be worth your while.

Whatever type your current TV is, having it repaired might be a better idea because of the following reasons:

1. Getting that new Plasma or LCD TV is likely to be more expensive than having your broken one repaired. Depending on what's wrong with it, it may be more practical to have it looked at first to see what's wrong. You can either bring it to the manufacturer's service center for some diagnostics (which may entail some costs), or you could troubleshoot it yourself! Information about CRT TV Repair, Plasma TV Repair or LCD TV Repair is readily available from the internet. You can get this information then find out what's wrong with your TV using a few simple steps and tools then decide whether to have it repaired or replaced.

2. Televisions have components that contain stuff like heavy metals and chemicals that may be harmful to the environment. Having it repaired and keeping it means it doesn't go out there to do its damage to mother Earth. Zero garbage is the wave of the future!

3. There is a market out there for used or refurbished TV. If you really wish to go get a new one, one option is to have your current one repaired or refurbished so you can sell it. You save some money and help keep more trash from the environment. See number 2.

4. Diagnosing it and perhaps repairing it yourself means you have just acquired a very useful skill! You may pursue it as a hobby or seriously as an alternative source of income. Either way you win.

Getting a new TV isn't always the best solution when you encounter problems with your current one. I believe the preceding 4 reasons are good enough justification for going the repair route when the costs justify it. I would say a good rule to use in deciding is that when repair costs are equivalent to at least 70% of the price of a brand new one, it may be more practical to go get that brand new TV. Otherwise, if repair amounts to not more than 60% of a brand new one, it may be more practical to have it repaired. The decision, ultimately, is up to you.

The author is an advocate of learning to repair TV yourself and maintains a blog dedicated to Plasma and LCD TV Repair.

Dog Creates Remodeling Nightmare

How many homeowners normally leave their dog in the backyard or they have full time access to the backyard through a doggie door. You're probably wondering how can a little dog create a remodeling nightmare for any contractor.

This wasn't the case this dog was a large Labrador retriever and tore up everything in the backyard constantly. The house remodel we were working on was a two story room addition over a single story house. This job lasted around six months and the dog was a daily reminder of how much attention a large dog actually needs.

Let's start with the first item of value the dog actually destroyed. It was my favorite tool bags of course that I have taken care of for over five years and deeply appreciated the fact that they were broke in just the way I wanted them to be. Kind of like a baseball mitt that doesn't quite fit right because of how stiff it is until you break it in.

While the homeowner of course apologized and never even offered to replace them. Oh but after that he did mention never to leave anything lying around in the backyard. Lesson learned of course and never forgotten. Well to make a long story short this large dog could chew up tools, lumber, plumbing pipes, electrical wire and was even able to destroyed the plywood fencing we would use to keep him away.

I'm going to stop right there with the remodeling nightmare created from this dog in hopes that other contractors can learn from my valuable lesson. As a contractor you should never assume that a homeowner will replace any damaged or broken tools and materials.

As a homeowner with a dog reading this article, think about having a place to enclose the dog if necessary while remodeling work is done on your home.

I love being around dogs and other animals but sometimes a problem like this can make life extremely miserable for both parties.

Greg Vanden Berge has been building and remodeling for over 30 years and his information has proven valuable to most contractors and homeowners all over the world. He usually tries to write at least two articles a day on home improvement or remodeling problems.

Greg is in the process right now of working on a home inspection website that will revolutionize the home inspection business. He is also working on a book to help homeowners and contractors as well as other home related professions in dealing with the home inspection process.

Ice Dam Problems And Solutions

Flowing Through the Universe

We live in an electromagnetic sea of light which is flowing through the universe. This sea of light is a part of our human consciousness.

The many millions of Lightworkers in the world have now brought enough conscious awareness into the level of the light on earth to start and connect the whole underlying field of light to become integrated and conscious in its own right, like a huge supercomputer.

Everything in the universe has this sea of light at its core. Physical matter is a hologram of light which has condensed; a thought-form where light has slowed down and changed from a wave into the fine particles which cluster together to form the finest building blocks, the atoms, that make up matter and everything in the Universe.

When we are relaxed, happy and going with our soul's purpose, we flow in this sea of light; guided and supported by the universe, we feel pleasure when we go with the flow.

Everything around us now has this same conscious awareness which formerly was experienced only through the human system. Our body's energy field, the human aura, reaches out and connects to the underlying lay lines and magnetosphere belonging to the planet.

Connect the earth to the sun and the other planets in a web of light. Gamma ray bursts flow right through the Universe, creating a superhighway of integrated conscious connections.

We are now becoming increasingly aware of these more subtle levels of energy which have become Self-aware and conscious, creating a matrix of intelligent communication throughout the whole universe.

Astrology has proved over many centuries that the heavenly bodies have an influence on our lives, emotions and feelings.

When we are driving our car, we feel guided and if we listen to our subtlest emotions, feeling and inner voice, we can transmit and receive messages to and from the underlying field of the intelligent light matrix, which keeps us safe and free from danger.

All the various control systems seem to link into our emotions and feeling; if we are feeling in tune and supported, we get green lights all the way when we drive. Parking spaces are free in the perfect place for us.

As we drive we seem to pick up messages from the things around us. We may notice synchronicities occurring, like the numbers on the dashboard clock being similar to those on the mile counter or temperature gauge or the number plate of the car in front.

We may start to notice messages in billboard signs which seem to be meant just for us.

It is as though what is outside of us is also inside, like we have a built-in satellite navigation system. It is unusual to go far astray when you are connected to your internal navigation system; it is as though you can drive on your emotions and feeling and be guided to the right place.

When you use your subtle energies while driving, it goes without saying that for safety's sake, you need to stay consciously aware of the five senses and your connection to physical reality. All I am suggesting here is to allow the awareness to expand a little by gaining depth as well within the subtle energies.

Request Distant Healing

What is Distant Healing?

Distant Healing is similar to prayer and its advantage is that it allows patients to receive Healing energies just as effectively as if they were in the presence of the Healer. Patients receive Healing equally well even when they are too ill to know that it is being sent. Distant Healing is equally effective whatever the patient's beliefs, although a desire to get better intensifies the effect of Healing. Any aspect of the body, mind or spirit can be reached by Healing.

Something You Don

Does Inner Peace Frighten You?

Does inner peace frighten you? Do you feel more at home, while being nervous, anxious or restless? Do you feel that you will lose something if become more calm and relaxed?

A certain well-known TV celebrity once said in an interview, that though he is aware of the value inner peace, he doesnt want it. He was certain that it will make his life boring and uninteresting, without fun and excitement. This shows lack of understanding of what inner peace is.

What do you think about inner peace? What do you think it can do to your life? Will you become passive and indifferent? Will it make you unpractical and unable to handle your daily affairs of life? Will it take away all the fun and pleasure from your life?

Inner peace is often associated with being impractical, visionary and naive, and unable to take care of oneself. It is also associated with yogis, fakirs and people who meditate all day long, unconcerned about money, relationships, work or ambitions. These are erroneous concepts. On the contrary, you gain inner strength and power, common sense, and a better ability to judge and think. It is quite possible to enjoy true inner peace, and at the same time lead an ordinary life, with family and job, like most people.

Are you afraid to experience inner peace? Are you scared it might make your life boring and uninteresting? Do you think it will prevent you from enjoying life? Are you afraid of being able to quiet the constant, and sometimes tiring, chatter of the mind? Do you think you have to keep up an inner state of tension, restlessness and anxiety to feel alive?

The desire for money, possessions and good relationships are often motivated by the subconscious desire for security. Fun, entertainment and journeys to foreign countries are expected to bring happiness, and temporary forgetfulness of troubles or worries. All of these are expected to bring some sort of relief and freedom, and this is exactly what inner peace brings.

Everyone, albeit unconsciously, seeks ways to alleviate or overcome worries, anxieties and fears. Everyone desires happiness and a feeling of security. All this results from inner peace.

You have a lot to gain and nothing to lose, when you are able to calm down the feverish activity of the mind, and enjoy a growing sense of inner peace and serenity. This state of mind can affect your external life, and also the people you meet.

Web Design - It's a Personal Choice

When people are looking at ways to do their web design for their website, there are different things that they need to think about. These are what is going to help them choose the best web design that they can. Here are some things to consider when it comes to web design.

Target audience

The first thing that needs to be taken into consideration is the product or service's target audience. What is their gender, what is their age, what is their likes and dislikes? The audience should always be the first thing that is considered when it comes to web design.

Products

The second thing that needs to be considered is the type of products that the company is offering. After all, if you are offering baby products you don't want loud music and flashy colours.

Price

The third thing that should be considered when choosing web design is what price the products or services are. If the products or services are more expensive, the web design should be elegant and it should be something that should reflect the prices.

Budget

The last thing that a company should think about when they are choosing web design is their budget. After they have thought about the other things, they can look at the different options they have and choose one that they can afford.

Web design is something that requires a lot of thought. The same type of web design isn't going to work for every business because the web design should be as personal as the products are.

Yoga, The Hot New Trend?

Yoga, as most of us know, is the ancient practice of breathing, meditation and a performing of certain postures. Practicing yoga has gained popularity in recent years and is now starting to gain a lot of attention from the material world. This has its serious practitioners concerned that the reason behind it's use will be lost in the grab for cash. Many people that practice yoga, or are attempting to learn it, are people that are well educated and are usually found to be doing above average financially. They are also the types of people willing to spend more money on things that are perceived to be better for the environment. Yoga is now becoming an 'in' thing to do. Because of this a good many people are jumping on the bandwagon and have started to sell all of the 'extras' that are used to enjoy yoga. Entrepreneurs are pursuing this market with a vengeance. These include: books, videos, music, clothes and even the toe socks are making a comeback. A lot of entrepreneurs are happy that they are able to adhere to yoga's natural healing principles while also turning a great profit. And a lot of investors are now being attracted to this trend as a means to make some serious cash.

Americans alone spend over $2.95 billion a year on yoga classes, clothing, videos, equipment, yoga holidays and more. Aging baby boomers have found it to be a less aggressive way to stay fit.

A study found that approximately 16.5 million people are now practicing yoga in the United States in gyms, in studios, or at home, this is up a whopping 43 percent from a study done in 2002.

In Vancouver, British Columbia, the company Lululemon Athletica has found there to be a rise in sales of yoga apparel to $100 million since they opened in 1998. People are snapping up the trendy pants and tops to wear to yoga class and they are becoming more and more popular for wearing to the grocery store or even to wear out to dinner.

Spas are finding that combining yoga classes with massage, facials and alternative treatments such as acupuncture, are a way to utilize a whole mind and body renewal process.

While spas are enjoying the money to be made by using yoga as a part of their product package, many consumers are now coming to enjoy it's many benefits and to realize that there are less stressful ways to stay fit and healthy.

Even some schools are now starting to teach yoga. They are realizing that it is the essence of what's missing in the lives of many modern teens: a connection between their mind and body. An ancient art that has been used for centuries to learn and enjoy a peaceful time, while reducing stress and to cultivate an enthusiasm for exercise. This could not have been rediscovered at a better time. After all, it is not news to anyone that has seen the stories on television that kids and teens are fatter and less active than ever these days.

According to a study done in 2002 by the National Center for Health Statistics it was found that 16% of young people ages 6-19 are overweight. The figures are probably much higher today and we all know just by walking around town that more and more adults are overweight too.

In a time when everything is rush rush and we are all eating more fast food than ever, while leading more and more stressful lives; maybe we all just need to take a little time to relax. Enjoy some yoga and de-stress.

Ahhhh, it makes a body feel good.

A Conservatory and How to Enhance Your Home's Value

A conservatory can be an extended living space for the home, but it can also be an often used area in the summer. The real problem is that when you install a conservatory, the space for your lawns or garden becomes constricted. This may be a case of compromise much like living in a glass room to enjoy beauty of nature in summer.

Some important factors, which are to be kept in mind while setting up conservatories, are direction in which it faces sunlight. For example, conservatories that face north fall short of getting ample sunlight. The extra heat accumulated also effects household items present in rooms like furniture and may lead to extra cost replacing them. Some of the mechanisms to get cooling effect in conservatories are tapestries and Conservatory blinds.

Nowadays, there are many offline dealers and online websites, which can supply or can even install conservatories. They make the supplied conservatory a perfect extension of your home. However, you can opt to make your conservatory in your own unique way. These are popularly known as DIY projects that you can enjoy in your spare time. This will give you an opportunity to experience the thrill of constructing your own conservatories and can help you save some money in these tight economic times.

Conservatories are also available in ready to use format where you just need small alignment adjustments to get it done. If you are thinking to assemble your own conservatory then keep the following, things in mind so avoid any further issues:-

1) If there are manholes in path of your proposed conservatory fill it up completely with a cover that is sealed tight

2) To amass rainwater by the wall, some conservatories like Edwardian or Victorian come with a roof that is boxed in

3) Height restriction should be assessed carefully, through hipped-back or low-pitched modulations

A conservatory provides you with extra yards of covered spaces where you can relax and spend some time. You can entertain your guests or visitors and it acts as great place to relax during summer days. Take care to include right furniture, right blinds and right utility objects to enjoy these to maximum.

On a monetary aspect, a conservatory can add a great value to a house. On average, this can give up to 11000 pounds for owners in UK. Another good aspect is that a conservatory seldom changes a home's structure. This is something aside but an integral part of a home.

Vince Samios writes about Conservatory Furniture, including Cane Conservatory Furniture, Wicker Conservatory Furniture, and Rattan Conservatory Furniture.

Keeping Pest Birds Out of Food Processing Plants

Pest birds can be a serious health and safety issue if they are not controlled. In food processing plants they can cause extensive damage, health issues and safety problems to workers. Pest birds such as pigeons, starlings and sparrows are very common in and around commercial facilities. These facilities often provide perfect roosting places, shelter for nesting and a wonderful food source. Pest bird feces is acidic and can be quite corrosive to building material and machinery, it can also carry any of 60 known transmittable diseases. Contamination of bird feces, feathers and debris is a big problem in the food processing industry. Health officials can close plants for days to weeks when contamination is found.

Once it is determined that there is an issue with pest birds, plant managers must survey the area to see what the pest birds are doing. In order to implement an effective pest bird control program you must know if the birds are roosting, nesting and if they have a good source of food, water and shelter. Once you know what the birds are doing and where they are; an effective bird control system can be installed.

Control Methods:

Roofs, ledges, parapet walls:

A physical bird deterrent such as bird spikes or shock systems best deters pest birds roosting on flat surfaces such as ledges and parapet walls. Bird Spikes are economical and easy to install. They make it impossible for the birds to land so they move on to the next favorable roosting area. Bird Shock Systems are a low profile product that gives a slight "jolt" to the pest birds changing their habits quickly...moving them on to a more comfortable area.

Loading docks & overhangs:

When pest birds are found under loading docks or overhangs, bird netting is the best way to exclude them. Bird Netting hung under the dock superstructure will keep pest birds from landing and roosting on I-beams and building nests under eaves.

Inside processing plant:

Once birds are inside the plant it can be very difficult to get them to leave, especially if there is a food source available to them. There is a new product available that will keep pest birds out of processing areas; Bird Mist Units. These units release a fine mist into the air to deter pest birds from large open spaces. The unit distributes methyl anthranilate, a grape extract proven to be effective in repelling pest birds. As the birds fly through the mist, the extract irritates their trigeminal nerve and mucous membranes through entry in the eyes, nose or mouth. Birds do not like the sensation caused by the extract and will take flight from the area being treated. Methyl anthranilate is a grape extract that naturally occurs in concord grapes, and is used for flavoring grape soda and candies. It is a food grade material, and recognized by the FDA as a safe substance. The extract has been widely used by pest control companies for safely and humanely deterring pest birds and geese for decades.

It is important to implement a pest bird control system as soon as birds are noticed hanging around food processing plants. This will protect the plants from damage, contamination and help to improve third-party audit scores.

Is Today Your Day?

Did you know that you have the capability to decide what your day is going to be like each & every day? The way you can do this is by setting your intention. You do this by simply saying out loud each morning what it is you want. For example, sometimes I will say "Today I set the intention that I will have a magical day". From there I simply believe it (there is something powerful that happens when you say things out loud and it shifts your thinking), and then I release it. By releasing it, I mean I let that thought go and just trust that is the type of day I will have. It's fun to see what shows up in my day from there. Sometimes it's something exciting in my business, like a really cool idea. Other times, it's having a great conversation with someone that is really motivating or inspiring. It's fun to see what you will attract into your day.

You can also use this for absolutely everything you are working on in your life. I wrote a couple of weeks ago about surrendering & letting go of control, so that the universe can bring you what you are desiring. My daily intention over the last little while has been "Today I set the intention that I have complete trust & faith in the universe that _______ will happen". Doing this type of exercise really just sets the tone of your attitude for the day. It takes the worry out of life, and allows you to be in a state to receive all of the magical gifts the universe has waiting for you.

So what kind of day are you going to have today?

How to Build a Small Deck

You've decided to learn how to build a small deck and now you need some easy to follow plans to get started. Building a small deck is not that difficult if you follow these steps.

Get detailed plans on how to build a small deck

Pick the right location

Use simple household tools- saws, wrenches, cordless drill etc.

Find a good helper

Let's start with the helper. There are times when you will need to have help even if it's just to hold some boards while you attach them. Sharing the work makes it a bit more manageable too and we've always found it more fun.

After building at least 100 decks in our building career, both large and small I am quite certain that anyone can learn how to build a small deck.

Picking the right location is a matter of convenience. Do you want it attached to your house or cottage? Will it be around the pool? Any scenario you can imagine can be built according to the plans.

How much does it cost to build a small deck? You can be sure that you will save hundreds of dollars by doing the work yourself instead of hiring a contractor. If you are careful you can build a really nice deck for only a couple hundred dollars including the cost of the plans.

Compare that to the thousands that a contractor is sure to charge and you will certainly be smiling, sitting there on your deck when it's finished instead of grumbling about the price.

You see, most of the cost incurred on a building project is labor. Paying someone to do something is the fastest way to increase the cost, as any contractor will tell you.

Start off by locating the finished level of your deck. If an exterior door to the house will provide access then the deck level should be at least 2 inches lower than your door. This will insure that rain or snow won't flow in the house during bad weather.

Learning how to build a small deck can be accomplished quickly with deck blocks as footings. They are big square (liftable) pieces of concrete laid on the ground as footings.

Posts are placed on the deck blocks to the desired deck height and 2 beams are placed across the top of the posts.

These support the floor joists and decking. Be sure to use a durable outdoor approved wood such as cedar or pressure treated lumber. Both work well.

Imagine pulling up a lawn chair or two onto your new deck and enjoying that summer evening breeze, along with a cold drink or two. That's living.

And just think, you didn't have to break the bank to hire a contractor either. You did it yourself and saved hundreds of dollars.

Isn't it time you got started on your own small deck? Let's get started.

How To Build A Small Deck is the place to start to save money on your deck building project, enjoying the outside, by learning how to build a small deck.

After we had finished building our house, we knew we wanted a deck, so we learned how to build a small deck and enjoy our days after work was done.
